Fotografía tipo carnet de Martín Elgueta, estudiante de Economía en la Universidad de Chile. Ingresó al MIR en 1968 y una de sus primeras responsabilidades fue la jefatura de la Brigada Secundaria. Durante el gobierno de Salvador Allende dirigió el Grupo Político Militar (GPM) 4, una estructura territorial que abarcaba las actuales comunas de Maipú y Cerrillos, la Villa Francia y la población José María Caro.
